Barcelona want to sign Manchester City player?
Barcelona continue to closely monitor the situation surrounding 26-year-old Norwegian Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, viewing him as their primary target to strengthen the attack.
Details: According to Football Insider, the Catalan club are exploring ways to pull off a blockbuster transfer while assessing potential changes to Manchester City’s management and squad. Barcelona see Haaland as the ideal long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. Unlike in previous attempts, however, the Blaugrana plan to rely on strategic planning and increased revenue following the redevelopment of Spotify Camp Nou.
The main obstacles to a potential move remain La Liga’s strict financial regulations and Haaland’s current contract with Manchester City. The English club have no intention of parting with their leading goalscorer, while experts rate the chances of a deal being completed in the near future as extremely low unless Barcelona sell several of their star players.
The Norwegian’s current contract with Manchester City runs until the summer of 2034, while Transfermarkt values the player at €220 million. Haaland has scored six goals in six matches this season.
