Barcelona tried to lower Marcus Rashford's price – Manchester United demands full amount
Manchester United has blocked Barcelona’s attempts to reduce the transfer fee for Marcus Rashford.
Details: According to the Daily Mail, the loan agreement includes a buyout option set at £26 million, and the Red Devils have made it clear: they are not open to renegotiation and demand the full amount be paid in full if the Spanish club wants to keep the player.
It is reported that Rashford’s sale is a key part of United’s financial strategy for the upcoming summer. The club aims to cut the wage bill, already saving £315,000 a week that is currently fully covered by Barcelona. Additionally, the contracts of Casemiro and Jadon Sancho expire in June, which will save the club another £625,000 per week. These measures are crucial as the club’s record debt has reached £1.29 billion.
It should be noted that Marcus Rashford, who joined Barcelona on loan last summer, has impressed the Catalan management with 10 goals and 13 assists in 34 matches.
Reminder: Manchester United has set its sights on Newcastle star Anthony Gordon.
