As Mohamed Salah's contract with Liverpool approaches its last year, rumors about where he will go next continue to be a big topic. At first, it seemed like Barcelona might be his next team, but recent news from El Nacional says the Spanish club is rethinking that idea.

Even though some clubs from Saudi Arabia are very interested, Salah has always said he wants to stay in Europe and play at the top level. Barcelona, which once looked like a good fit because of its history and goals, now seems less likely to sign Salah for different reasons.

While reports suggest that PSG could emerge as a viable option should the French club show serious interest, a move to the Saudi Pro League still remains a growing possibility as fewer offers appear on the table for Salah.

There is also the chance that Salah could stay at Liverpool, even as El Nacional downplays the possibility. The Reds have a strong record of retaining key players, such as Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, which could play a role in Salah’s future at Anfield.

Manager Hansi Flick's resistance to signing the 32-year-old, even on a free transfer, is a major factor in Barcelona's change of focus. Young players like 17-year-old Lamine Yamal, an emerging star at the club, are Flick's first priority. Flick is concerned that bringing in Salah would limit Yamal's chances for advancement.

Salah's future is still up in the air because Barcelona is concentrating on Leroy Sané from Bayern Munich, who has previously collaborated with Flick. Saudi clubs and PSG are also keeping a careful eye on things.
