Barcelona reach agreement with head coach over new deal
Barcelona were knocked out by Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals a few days ago, but the club’s hierarchy still have full faith in their manager.
Details: According to Catalunya Radio, the Catalan club’s board held talks with the German coach and successfully reached an agreement. Hansi Flick will remain at Barça and sign a new contract running until the summer of 2028. His current deal was set to expire in 2027.
During his time at Barcelona, Flick has already won several trophies: La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. His side currently sit top of the table, nine points clear of second place, and have a chance to secure a second consecutive league title.
Meanwhile, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stated that the club intend to file another complaint with UEFA regarding the refereeing of the match.
Reminder: UEFA also reacted to these comments and is currently considering possible disciplinary action against Raphinha. It could be very serious.
