In the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final, Atletico Madrid thrashed Barcelona 4–0, but the match featured a highly controversial moment.

Details: In the 59th minute, Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi appeared to give his side a glimmer of hope by finding the net. However, after a VAR review, the refereeing team ruled the goal out. The incident sparked widespread debate.

According to Què T’hi Jugues, Barcelona are now preparing an official complaint regarding the disallowed goal. The club are deeply dissatisfied with the decision and intend to submit a formal statement to the RFEF.

The return leg between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will take place on Tuesday, March 3, at Camp Nou, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 CET.

Reminder: Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick commented on the refereeing decisions made during yesterday’s Copa del Rey semi-final against Atletico Madrid.
