🤯 Barcelona may demand a replay of El Clásico due to scandalous episode
The discussions surrounding yesterday's El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu, which ended in Real Madrid's 3-2 victory, are still ongoing.
Barcelona's President Joan Laporta stated that his club may demand a rematch of the match. This stems from a controversial incident in the middle of the first half, when Real Madrid's goalkeeper Andriy Lunin saved a shot from Lamine Yamal after a corner directly on the goal line. The referee did not award the goal, but Barcelona is convinced that the ball crossed the line and should have made the score 2-1 in favor of Xavi's team.
“We have asked the Spanish Football Federation to provide all images and video recordings of the disallowed goal by Lamin Yamal in El Clasico. If it is a legitimate goal, we do not rule out requesting a rematch of the match”, Laporta said.
Following yesterday's victory, Real Madrid is ahead of Barcelona by 11 points in the La Liga standings. Thus, the race for the championship is practically concluded.
Today, it became known that Barcelona's head coach Xavi is willing to reconsider his decision to leave the club if the management satisfies his transfer demands.
