The future of one of Barcelona's most important midfielders appears to be settled despite fresh transfer speculation.

Details: According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Fermín López is not planning to leave Barcelona anytime soon. The 23-year-old Spanish midfielder is extremely happy at the Catalan club and is considered a key player by everyone within the organization. A departure is therefore not on the agenda.

The midfielder's future has recently attracted considerable attention. On October 28, reports emerged that Paris Saint-Germain were preparing an offer for López, while Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal were also monitoring his situation. However, no official bid or agreement between the clubs was confirmed.

Romano's latest update makes the player's immediate intentions clear. López feels comfortable at Barcelona, where his performances have earned him an important role in Hansi Flick's plans. The Catalan giants also highly value the Spanish international and see him as a significant part of their sporting project.

It is worth noting that López graduated from Barcelona's La Masia academy and signed a contract extension in February 2026, keeping him at the club until June 2031. During the 2025/26 season, the Spanish midfielder scored 13 goals and provided 17 assists for Barcelona.
