Barcelona is working on extending Frenkie de Jong's contract

Barcelona has made an impressive start to the new La Liga season, winning all their matches and maintaining a perfect record. Riding this momentum, the club has begun working on contract extensions.
Details: According to insider Nicolò Schira, Barcelona is negotiating a new deal for midfield leader Frenkie de Jong, aiming to extend his contract until 2029.
Additionally: Fermin López is in talks for a contract renewal, with sources indicating that a five-year deal has already been agreed upon. Left-back Gerard Martín has also updated his contract with the club.
Barcelona is also negotiating with the representatives of Gavi and Pedri, whose contracts expire in 2026. Reports suggest that talks with both players are in advanced stages.
However, there’s bad news for Barcelona: Captain and first-choice goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has suffered a serious injury.
