The 20-year-old defender Aleix Vallés made a strong impression during Barcelona's preseason matches, regularly featuring for the first team. However, he will not have the opportunity to prove himself in official games for his hometown club this season.
It was officially announced today that Barcelona has extended Vallés' contract until the summer of 2026. Immediately after, the player was sent on loan to Scottish side Celtic.
The loan agreement does not include a purchase option.
Last season, Vallés was on loan at Levante, competing in the Segunda División, where he was a key player, making 29 appearances.
Celtic won the 2023/24 Scottish Premier League and secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
