This summer, Barcelona are determined to strengthen their central defense and are considering several options to bolster their back line. The Catalan club’s primary target remains Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni, but the current transfer market dynamics could spark stiff competition and force both sides to rethink their strategies.
The Italian is viewed as the top candidate, but Tottenham’s Cristian Romero is also on the list and could leave the London club this summer regardless of their final standing this season.
According to Sport, Barcelona officials have already held preliminary talks regarding Romero, and this information has reached Bastoni and his camp.

It’s worth noting that Inter value Bastoni at around €60 million, while Barcelona are unwilling to pay more than €50 million. That figure could be enough to secure Romero’s signature, putting pressure on the Italian club to reconsider their stance.
