Barcelona plans to extend the contract with veteran goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny for the next season. However, this is a position that sporting director Deco is keeping an eye on for next summer.

Details. Sport reports that Szczesny has allowed Deco to postpone the urgent search for a goalkeeper, yet he is monitoring several candidates for the position.

Brighton's number one Bart Verbruggen has caught the club's attention, as at 22 years old, he fits all the parameters Deco is looking for. He is contracted with the "Seagulls" until 2028 and would not come cheap for any potential buyer.

Other options, such as Lucas Chevalier from Lille and Marcin Bulka from Nice, are also on Deco's list.

Verbruggen has been playing for Brighton since 2023. The 22-year-old goalkeeper has 22 caps for the Netherlands national team.

Reminder. It was previously reported that Bayern Munich wants Verbruggen to become a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer.
