Balotelli wants to stay at Genoa, but Vieira has no plans for him
The future of Genoa’s controversial forward Mario Balotelli remains uncertain.
Details. According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, despite interest from foreign clubs, Balotelli would prefer to stay at Genoa. However, the striker is still not part of head coach Patrick Vieira’s plans.
Balotelli joined Genoa as a free agent in late October. This season, the Italian forward has played just 56 minutes across six Serie A matches for the Grifone without registering a goal or assist.
Reminder. Among the potential options for Balotelli’s next move, Serie A side Monza—where he previously played—was mentioned, as well as Serie B club Bari, which has also shown interest in the striker.
Earlier, Genoa’s sporting director stated that Balotelli is unhappy with his playing time and could leave the club in the near future.
