With Jürgen Klopp stepping down as Liverpool's head coach, the question of who will succeed the German at Anfield has become a burning question. Various candidates are being named, and three-time Ballon d'Or winner and former Netherlands head coach Marco van Basten has joined the speculation.

He believes we could soon see Feyenoord manager Arne Slot at Anfield:

"I think he is actually good. I hope he stays in the Netherlands longer, as it will develop local football. But, he can go anywhere. Bayern, Liverpool. I'm really sure about that.

I've spoken to him a few times, and he's very good at dealing with groups of players. Of course, he is very tactically savvy. I can describe him very well. He's calm and well-mannered. As I understand it, he is a really top coach. I think he can go to any club, even a far challenging one. He is very clever with his words," van Basten said in conversation with Ziggo Sport.

Earlier, it was reported that Slot could be Thomas Tuchel's successor at Bayern Munich.
