Bale sets his sights on another club. This time—at home

After hanging up his boots in January 2023, former Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale started considering club ownership. But so far, those ambitions have been tough to realize.
Details: According to David Ornstein, Bale has led a group of investors in an official bid to purchase Cardiff City. In May, the consortium sent a letter of intent and financial proposals to club owner Vincent Tan, but Tan did not respond positively.
Despite the setback, Bale’s interest in Cardiff City remains strong. Ornstein also did not confirm earlier reports linking Bale to Plymouth.
Reminder: Previously, Bale’s former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modrić became a co-owner of another Welsh club—Swansea.
Back in 2022, Bale was seriously considered as a potential signing for Cardiff after leaving Real Madrid, but ultimately he joined Los Angeles FC, where he played 14 matches before announcing his retirement after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
