Baghdad Bounedjah’s Al Ahly Rumors Addressed by Al-Shamal SC
The communications officer for the Qatari team Al-Shamal SC, Taha Al-Mhezaa, has responded to the persistent claims that Baghdad Bounedjah is moving to Al Ahly SC in Egypt. Al-Mhezaa explained the scenario in an exclusive interview with Pan-Africa Football, stressing that no formal offers had been made.
“Al-Shamal received inquiries about the possibility of Baghdad Bounedjah joining Al Ahly for the FIFA Club World Cup, but nothing official has materialized so far,” Al-Mhezaa stated. “What happened was only an inquiry with the player. However, there is nothing official at this point.”
He added that Al-Shamal’s management would have the final say on any offers for the 33-year-old forward, whether from Al Ahly or other clubs.
Bounedjah has been in resurgent form with Al-Shamal this season following a challenging stint with Al Sadd. The prolific striker has netted 11 goals and contributed 6 assists in 11 Qatar Stars League matches, along with 2 goals in 4 cup appearances.
Since no formal talks have taken place, it is still unclear whether Bounedjah will join Al Ahly despite the speculations. The Algerian star is currently concentrating on sustaining his elite performances while continuing to flourish in the Qatari league.
