In a meeting held today, Friday, at the youth sector fields in Nasr City, Al Ahly President Mahmoud El Khatib addressed the first-team players in the presence of coach Marcel Koller and Sporting Director Mohamed Ramadan. The conversation centered around the importance of regaining the fans' support after the team's penalty shootout loss to Pachuca in the Club World Cup.

El Khatib admitted that the club is upset about not winning two big trophies: the African Super Cup against Zamalek and the Challenge Cup against Pachuca. He also told the players that Al Ahly won't play in the Egyptian Cup this season because they pulled out last year. He said they need to be careful and not make mistakes in the future.

El Khatib said the main goal now is to win the next games in both the CAF Champions League and the Egyptian Premier League. "We have important games coming up, and we need to win every one of them and not make any mistakes," he added.

Al Ahly will play against CR Belouizdad this Sunday at Cairo International Stadium in the third round of the CAF Champions League group stage. This game is very important for the team as they want to recover and keep trying to win the championship.
