Bafana Bafana to face Zambia in Gqeberha

Gqeberha will host Bafana Bafana’s friendly against Zambia next week Friday. Safa announced that the 6pm kickoff friendly international will be played in the country’s Eastern Cape province and Hugo Broos will announce his final 23-men squad today.

This game is seen as the national side’s preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations to be played in Morocco.

The African spectacle starts from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026 and Bafana are expected to finish far better than their bronze finish in the previous edition.

That better finish than third-place finish is buoyed by the fact that Broos’ men are off to next year’s World Cup tournament and that has raised their pedigree.

But for the Belgian coach to gauge how far his troops are in terms of readiness they first need to face the Chipolopolo next week and that will be an indication of how ready are they for Afcon.
