Bafana Bafana opponent, Zambia, go local in replacing Avram Grant as national team coach

Moses Sichone replaces Avram Grant as Zambia’s national team coach.

Former Chelsea boss, Grant, left his tenure last month ahead of their friendly match against Bafana Bafana.

Few names were linked with this vacant post as there was a huge interest in it the minute Grant was announced that he is leaving.

"FAZ has announced Chipolopolo great and current assistant coach Moses Sichone as new Chipolopolo gaffer,” FAZ said in a Facebook statement.

"Sichone will be assisted by his contemporaries from his playing days Andrew Sinkala, who until now was based in Germany, and former international Perry Mutapa, who is in charge of Green Eagles Football Club.

"2012 Africa Cup of Nations winning goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene will be the goalkeeper coach, while Noel Mwandila becomes the strikers’ coach.

"Chipolopolo legend Joseph Musonda will be the fitness coach."

The newly formed technical team will have their maiden test when they face Bafana Bafana this Friday in Gqeberha.
