Bafana Bafana midfielder Mohau Nkota: I am yet to play to my best level at this Africa Cup of Nations but I am planning to lighten up in the last-16
Mohau Nkota admits his Africa Cup of Nations showing is not yet the best he has to offer.
The Al-Ettifaq midfielder is having a below par displays at the tournament in Morocco as he is yet to show the kind of form he is known for.
"It won’t take time to get the Mohau we know, it’s just a matter of time. We had some issues we had to sort out, so I think we’ll get that Mohau Nkota you know, in the next game,” he said.
"It’s not an easy tournament, it’s a tough one, and it won’t become easier as we go further, so for me it’s to man up, work hard and help the team."
Nkota was thrilled at having a run against Zimbabwe despite the low key display.
"I got the chance, and it happened that we got a penalty, but coming on as a sub, making an impact for the team, being someone who wants to contribute, it’s something we have to do as a winger. So I’m happy to have contributed," Nkota said.
Bafana are through to the last-16 of this tournament, having managed to beat Zimbabwe and earn a draw against Angola.
Hugo Broos’ men were seen as possible potential champions of this 35th edition but their display so far has been lacklustre.
