Steven Pienaar sees Bafana Bafana beating Mexico tomorrow in the World Cup opening game at the Azteca Stadium.

The former Ajax Amsterdam and Everton midfielder said the current Bafana crop of players is better than the 2010 side which faced Mexico in South Africa.

Pienaar was part of that squad which drew 1-1 against El Tri at Johannesburg's FNB Stadium, interestingly, on the same date and month on the same global stage.

"I might get shot in the head if I say this, but I’ll say it, it’s gonna be 2-0 for Bafana Bafana,” said Pienaar on SABS Sport.

"And I think this team is much better than the team we had. And if I look at the Mexican team, they’re not as good as the team from 2010.

“So, I really think we will win 2-0.”

The game will start at 9pm South African time.
