Bafana Bafana coach Helman Mkhalele finally cleared to travel to North America for the World Cup
Helman Mkhalele has finally been cleared to join Bafana Bafana in Mexico.
The news of Hugo Broos assistant being cleared to travel to Mexico have been broken by Safa president Danny Jordaan.
Mkhalele and Bafana's head of security, Mduduzi Mbatha, were the only team members remaining in South Africa due to visa refusal by the US embassy.
“I can confirm that Helman and Mbatha have got their Visas, and they will be leaving to join the team. Tomorrow, all of them will be together," said Jordaan.
“I would also like to thank the US Embassy for their cooperation and for their support in ensuring that all of our players are together now. I just want to extend my gratitude and my thanks to all the staff at the American Embassy.”
Bafana will face Jamaica at their base in Pachuca on Friday, where it is two hours away from Mexico City's iconic venue, Azteca Stadium, where they face El Tri on June 11 for the opening match.
