Bafana Bafana beat Zambia 3-1 in a convincing fashion. This win is a good confidence booster ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations next month

Bafana Bafana secured a convincing 3-0 win over Zambia in a friendly international played in Gqeberha.
Aswin Appollis, Sphelelo Sithole and Mohau Nkota scored for the home side while Sabobo Banda netted for the visitors.
It was a lively encounter at Nelson Mandela bay Stadium and Bafana’s win was one to ensure they head into the Africa Cup of Nations tournament with their tails up.
Sipho Mbule, as expected, was key in ensuring Bafana dominate this game in midfield. His midfield partner, Teboho Mokoena earned his 50th cap for the national side.
The Chipolopolo did not really trouble the South African defence as Ronwen Williams had a quiet game until he was substituted for Orlando Pirates’ Sipho Chaine.
Overall, Bafana did show intent and confidence in their play with most of the players getting involved in dangerous moves into the Zambian half.
Such sheer brilliance and bravado in their play is a good ingredient ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco next month.
Coach Hugo Broos’ headache now will be who to retain and who to miss the tournament.
