Bafana Bafana aiming to beat Zambia today despite it being a friendly international
Professionalism, focus and a great work ethic are some of the characteristics Bafana Bafana players possess.
These traits have seen the national side win bronze medal at previous Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, qualify for next month’s Afcon and also qualify for next year’s World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.
Again this afternoon, when they face Zambia, these attributes will stand them in good stead when they face Zambia in a friendly international.
“We obviously focus on ourselves and what we’re building, we’ve built a wonderful team over the last few years, so we’re focused on ourselves, and if you could see the intensity in training, you will see how serious the guys are taking this game against Zambia,” he said.
“The intensity was so high, and the coach is obviously very happy about that because we all could have camp and relaxed because it’s a friendly match, we’ve qualified for the FIFA World Cup – all those nothings but the intensity and seriousness I saw this week is amazing.
“That is what helped us over the last few years, being serious, being professional for each and every game, because that is building blocks, each and every step is important.”
“It’s amazing to play [at home] it brings so much joy to me, I know what I mean to the community of the Northern areas, actually the whole Gqeberha, and for me it just gives me happiness to play in front of so many familiar faces, family and loved ones,” he said.
Today’s game start at 3pm at Nelson Mandela Bay in Gqeberha.
