According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Mbappé's absence is due to a knee injury that will sideline him for around 3–4 weeks.
Earlier reports indicated that Mbappé had been dealing with a hidden knee injury that caused him minor discomfort, but the situation worsened, leading to more serious consequences.
This season, the French striker has made 24 appearances for Real in all competitions, scoring 29 goals and providing 4 assists.
The Spanish Super Cup semi-final between Atlético Madrid and Real is set for January 8 at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The winner will face either Barcelona or Athletic Bilbao in the final on January 11.
