Austria in a spectacular match beat Netherlands and won Group D. France finished 2nd

Group D Concludes with Thrilling Matches at Euro 2024.

Austria and the Netherlands delivered an exhilarating match, with Austria emerging victorious. The Austrians led at halftime thanks to an own goal by Malen.

The second half saw an explosion of action. Gakpo equalized early in the half, but Austria regained the lead just 12 minutes later. Depay brought the Dutch level again in the 75th minute, but Austria had the final say. Five minutes later, Sabitzer stunned the Dutch fans by putting Austria ahead for the third and final time.

Austria managed to hold on to their lead, and with the result of the parallel match, they won the group! The Netherlands, with four points, ended up in third place.

In the parallel game, France needed a win against Poland to top the group. The Poles, already eliminated after the second round, played for pride.

However, Poland was determined not to leave the tournament without a point. Robert Lewandowski equalized with a penalty in the 79th minute after a retake.

The match ended 1-1, a result that saw France unexpectedly finish second in the group, with Austria taking the top spot. Poland, with one point, finished last.
