Austria national team head coach Ralf Rangnick was admitted to hospital for an urgent follow-up surgery after complications arose from his initial operation, as reported by The Sun.
It is noted that last month, Rangnick underwent ankle surgery due to general wear and tear. The procedure was initially successful, allowing the German to return home near Salzburg shortly after.
However, it soon became apparent that his post-operative stitches had become inflamed, forcing Rangnick to return to the hospital to address the issue. He remains under medical care for now, but is expected to be discharged later this week.
Let us recall, Ralf Rangnick has been in charge of the Austria national team since 2022. Under his leadership, the squad reached the round of 16 at Euro 2024 last summer. Previously, he managed Schalke, RB Leipzig, and several other German clubs.
