Australian 20-year-old skateboarder Palmer has now won his second Olympic gold medal
20-year-old Australian skateboarder Keegan Palmer has won gold in the park discipline at the 2024 Olympics.
The silver medal went to Tom Schaar from the USA, and the bronze was awarded to Augusto Akio from Brazil.
Notably, this is Palmer's second Olympic gold medal.
In 2017, the 14-year-old skateboarder won the Dew Tour Am Bowl final. Palmer made his Dew Tour debut in 2018 and a year later placed 3rd in the 2019 Dew Tour final. He also finished 4th at the World Championship in São Paulo that same year. In 2020, Keegan won the Skate Australia National Park Championship.
In 2021, Palmer qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, where he won the gold medal in the men's park event.
Earlier we reported that a 51-year-old skateboarder competed at the Olympics in Paris. He became the oldest participant of the Olympic Games.
