Atletico transfer target has commented on his interest from the Spanish grandee

In the winter transfer window, Atlético Madrid, according to media reports, intended to sign Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley, but the Scottish club blocked the move as the Glasgow club were not satisfied with the amount of Los Colchoneros.

The 23-year-old midfielder confirmed the interest, but emphasised one detail:

"Celtic received an offer from Atletico and that was cool. I wasn't very close to the transfer as Celtic wanted more money. Do I regret that the transfer didn't happen? I don't. It was just cool for me that a club like Atletico wanted me. You don't get an offer from them very often, so that's obviously cool. What's going to happen in the summer? We'll see," O`Riley said in a conversation with Tipsbladet.

The midfielder is showing excellent form this season, scoring 11 goals and giving 15 assists in 39 games for Celtic. Transfermarkt values the 23-year-old Danish national team player at 13 million euros.
