During the upcoming summer transfer window, numerous clubs will be keeping a close eye on João Félix, much like last year. It is expected that he will remain at Atlético Madrid, but he has already managed to upset fans and teammates alike on multiple occasions.

Initially, the Portuguese forward clashed with the team's head coach, Diego Simeone, leading him to join Chelsea on loan in January 2023. Subsequently, in the summer, he moved to Barcelona, also on loan.

As we have previously reported, the player himself wishes to stay with the reigning Spanish champions, a sentiment echoed by Barcelona. However, Barcelona's financial situation may hinder this desire. The club is only willing to pay up to €30 million for the player, a sum that falls far short of Atlético Madrid's expectations.

According to reports from Diario AS, Atlético Madrid are seeking a fee of no less than €80 million for the player, sparking interest from new suitors. However, it is also reported that Atlético Madrid are open to another temporary departure.

This option may suit Barcelona, and they are likely to attempt another loan offer for the player. Furthermore, they may negotiate the terms of the purchase option in the contract, whether to keep it optional or make it mandatory to secure the player's permanent transfer.

This plan could be thwarted by other clubs, including those from the Premier League or other top-five European leagues, who may have the financial means to sign a player of Félix's caliber, demonstrated during his time at Barcelona.

In any case, there is still plenty of time before the start of the transfer window, allowing all parties ample opportunity for deliberation.
