Atletico have extended the contract of another defender

Experienced center-back Stefan Savić will remain at Atlético Madrid for the upcoming season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the club has activated the automatic contract extension option with the Montenegrin footballer for the next season. His previous contract with the club was set to expire in June of this year.

Yesterday, it was also announced that Atlético extended the contract with Cesar Azpilicueta.

The 33-year-old Savić is a legend at Atlético. He has been representing the Madrid club since the summer of 2015, having transferred from Fiorentina for €12 million. Since then, Savić has played 288 matches for Diego Simeone's team and scored 3 goals.

In the current season, the experienced center-back has participated in 24 matches across all competitions.
