Atalanta star injured six days before first match at Euro 2024
Atalanta's central midfielder and leader, Teun Koopmeiners, is at risk of missing the start of the Euro 2024 Championship.
During today's warm-up before the friendly match against Iceland, Koopmeiners felt pain in his calf muscle and was unable to start the game. He was replaced by PSV's Jerdy Schouten.
There are only six days left until the Netherlands' first match in Euro 2024 against Poland. It is very likely that Koopmeiners will miss this game. Depending on the severity of the injury, he may miss the entire Euro 2024.
In the recently concluded season, Koopmeiners played 51 matches across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 7 assists.
Koopmeiners, along with Atalanta, won the club's first-ever Europa League trophy.
It was previously announced that another Dutch central midfielder from Atalanta, Marten de Roon, will definitely miss Euro 2024.
