After Gasperini's departure, Atalanta has launched an active campaign to find a new head coach.
Details: According to Gianluca Di Marzio, one of the main candidates for the Atalanta manager position is Thiago Motta.
The club's representatives have already held several meetings with him. In the coming days, negotiations are also scheduled with Raffaele Palladino and Ivan Jurić.
One of the key factors in choosing the new manager is preserving the playing philosophy established by Gian Piero Gasperini and continuing to develop a similar style of play.
It's worth noting that 42-year-old Thiago Motta is currently without an active contract, which could be a significant advantage compared to other candidates such as Igor Tudor and Patrick Vieira, who are also on Atalanta's shortlist but are still tied to contracts with other clubs.
Thiago Motta's last club was Juventus of Turin, with whom his contract was terminated in March 2025.
