Details: According to Fabrizio Romano on his X social media page, citing journalist Matteo Moretto, Aston Villa are very close to signing 25-year-old Atlético Madrid central midfielder Conor Gallagher.

It is reported that negotiations are now in their final stages, with Aston Villa set to take Gallagher on loan until the end of the season with an obligation to buy.

Conor Gallagher joined Atlético Madrid in 2024 from London’s Chelsea for €42 million. He has made 77 appearances for Los Colchoneros, scoring 7 goals and providing 7 assists.

Gallagher’s current contract with Atlético runs until 2029, and his transfer value is estimated at €35 million by Transfermarkt.
