Aston Villa consider signing Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta
Aston Villa are looking to strengthen their attacking line and have now shown interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Details: According to information from David Ornstein, the Birmingham club have turned their attention to Crystal Palace central forward Jean-Philippe Mateta. This comes amid increasingly complicated negotiations between Aston Villa and Besiktas over the transfer of Abraham, prompting the club to potentially open talks for an alternative target.
Earlier, we reported that Aston Villa were very close to signing a contract with 28-year-old Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who is currently on loan at Besiktas until the end of the season.
However, he is likely to leave Istanbul prematurely in order to return to the Premier League, despite the fact that Besiktas hold a mandatory option to purchase the player.
Reminder: Striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is ready to make a move and leave Crystal Palace. The French forward has already reached a preliminary agreement with Juventus.
