The women’s singles semifinals of the 2025 Australian Open are underway in Melbourne, and the first finalist has been revealed.

Details: World number one Aryna Sabalenka has secured her spot in the final.

In her semifinal match, the athlete, who is competing without representing any country in the tournament, defeated Spain’s Paula Badosa (ranked 12th by the WTA).

At the start of the first set, Sabalenka fell behind 0-2 but quickly regained momentum to win 6-4.

The second set was entirely dictated by the reigning Australian Open champion, ending with a commanding 6-2 victory.

In the final, Sabalenka will face the winner of the match between Iga Świątek and Madison Keys.

Reminder: Earlier, WADA resolved the doping scandal involving Iga Świątek.
