On the last day of the transfer window Arsenal said goodbye to goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, but head coach Mikel Arteta has no intention of leaving the goalkeeper position without proper reserves.

As the Spaniard himself put it at a press conference, he intends to find replacements for Ramsdale and Carl Hein, who was also said goodbye in the summer but loaned to Real Valladolid:

‘It is clear that we have lost Karl and Aaron, so we need to replace them both.

First of all, I want to say a huge thank you for what [Ramsdale] has done for the club, for the team and for himself. When he joined the team he brought a lot of joy, charisma and energy and he was really good at the time. But then things changed.

He had a situation where he insisted a lot that he was happiest when he was playing. We tried to fulfil that wish of his. The other day he looked really excited and happy. He's moving to a great club and a great coach, he looked very excited, so I think we're all happy for him,’ ESPN quoted Arteta as saying.

Earlier it became known that Arsenal signed Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto.
