Arteta hired professional thieves to teach Arsenal players a lesson. What did he do it for?
Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta, employed a rather unorthodox method to train his players.
According to The Athletic, Arteta hired professional pickpockets who discreetly stole from several players before a team dinner.
The Spanish coach then asked the players to check their pockets, and when they realized their belongings were missing, he revealed that he had orchestrated the event to emphasize the importance of always staying alert and never letting their guard down.
It’s worth noting that last season, Arsenal was in a prolonged battle for the Premier League title but ultimately lost to Manchester City.
Preseason matches have been favorable for Arteta’s side. Yesterday, they defeated Bayer 4-1, following a 2-1 victory over Manchester United, though they previously suffered a 1-2 loss to Liverpool.
