Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta spoke about the future of the team's defender Jurrien Timber.

Timber joined Arsenal last summer from Ajax for €40 million but only managed to play two matches for the Gunners before suffering an injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season.

"We are all desperate to see Timber on the pitch. His leadership, skills, composure, competitive nature, and intelligence — I think he will bring a lot to our team. We love him, and we are eagerly waiting," Arteta told Sky.

This summer, Timber also faced health issues during preseason training.

Earlier, it was reported that another Arsenal defender would miss several weeks due to an injury sustained during the Gunners' preseason preparations.
