Frenchman Arsène Wenger, FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, has officially launched the Talent Development Project in the Egyptian Football Association during his visit to the federation’s headquarters and the new national teams’ center in Sixth of October City.

Speaking at a press conference, Wenger said: “The environment here is perfect for football development. At FIFA, we oversee this project to ensure global competitiveness, and we trust that we can achieve great success with the Egyptian FA.”

He highlighted Egypt’s strong passion for football, its young talents, and its great potential. He also emphasized FIFA’s commitment to supporting Egyptian football at all levels, including technical, administrative, and refereeing system development.

Wenger also highlighted Al Ahly's participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, claiming that the competition brings together the world's greatest teams. He admitted that Al Ahly confronts severe competition from Palmeiras, Inter Miami, and FC Porto.

He clarified in his conclusion that the project's objective is to cultivate talent within the Egyptian league rather than merely exporting it to Europe. He hailed Mohamed Salah as a shining example of an Egyptian player with the ability to compete internationally.
