Arsenal have suffered another major blow following their humiliating Carabao Cup elimination! The Football Association has rejected the club's appeal against Max Dowman's red card, leaving the 16-year-old sensation facing a three-match suspension.

Details: On October 29, the FA confirmed that an independent Regulatory Commission dismissed Arsenal's claims of wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment. Dowman's straight red card against Fleetwood Town therefore stands, along with the standard three-match domestic ban. The commission's full written reasons will be published later.

The controversial incident occurred in the 85th minute of Tuesday's fourth-round cup tie. Following a heavy challenge from Fleetwood midfielder Harrison Neal, Dowman reacted by kicking out at his opponent. Referee Michael Salisbury showed the teenager a direct red card, forcing Arsenal to finish the match with ten players.

The London giants drew 1-1 before losing 5-3 in the penalty shootout against fourth-tier Fleetwood. Dowman will now miss Premier League fixtures against Liverpool on November 1, Hull City on November 7 and Newcastle United on November 21. His next possible domestic appearance is against Manchester City on November 29.

Importantly, the suspension applies only to domestic football. Dowman remains eligible for Arsenal's Champions League matches, including the November 4 encounter with Slavia Prague. Mikel Arteta must now prepare for a difficult trip to Anfield without one of his most exciting young talents.

Reminder: Race for the wonderkid! Arsenal appeal controversial sending-off ahead of blockbuster clash.
