Arsenal is eyeing Aston Villa's midfielder Douglas Luiz, as reported by respected football insider Fabrizio Romano.
The London club views the Brazilian as an ideal candidate to strengthen the core of their midfield. However, reaching an agreement with Aston Villa won't be straightforward. The club is reluctant to part ways with key players in January, holding firm on their position.
The 25-year-old Brazilian international has been with Villa since 2019. This season, the central midfielder has scored six goals and made four assists across 25 matches in various competitions.
Transfermarkt values the midfielder at €60 million. Luiz has represented Brazil ten times since his debut in 2019.
Arsenal currently holds the top spot in the Premier League after 17 rounds. Aston Villa, managed by Unai Emery, sits third, trailing the leader by just one point, creating an interesting scenario in the league standings.
