Arsenal will extend Arteta's contract

Despite the lack of significant trophies, Arsenal are satisfied with the fruits of Mikel Arteta's work as head coach and are ready to continue working with him.

According to Sky Sports, the 42-year-old specialist will be offered a new, long-term agreement. It is emphasised that the relationship between the parties is so strong that negotiations as such will not be needed.

Preliminary conversations have been held, and they turned out to be smooth. There is confidence that under Arteta's leadership the club will become an even more powerful force in the coming years.

The Spaniard's current agreement runs until 2025, but due to the aforementioned factor, neither the club nor Arteta himself have any intention of forcing negotiations. Right now, the club bosses, as well as the specialist himself, are focused on going into the season well.

The Spanish coach has been in charge of Arsenal since December 2019. Under his leadership, the ‘canoniers’ won the FA Cup, as well as twice became the winner of the Community Shield. For the last two seasons, Arsenal are regulars in the championship race, but Arteta has failed to win it so far.
