Arsenal star Declan Rice reveals unusual nickname given to him by Zinchenko
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has revealed an unusual nickname given to him by teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko, during an interview with Sky Sports.
According to Rice, the entire team now calls him "Horse", a name originally coined by Zinchenko.
"I think it was Oleksandr Zinchenko who started it, and then Jorginho went with it. Now everyone calls me ‘the horse’. I think it’s because they think I can run all day, that I’m athletic, my ability to go again, my sustainability and availability to the team. Even two days since the last game, I’m running around in training and they’re thinking I’m a mad man," Rice admitted.
The former West Ham star has become one of Arsenal’s key players and leaders. In the 2023/24 season, Rice has already played 33 matches across all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 7 assists.
Arsenal currently sits 2nd in the Premier League table, trailing Liverpool by 6 points, with the Reds having a game in hand.
