On April 14, in the 33rd round match of the English Premier League, Arsenal hosted Aston Villa at their home ground. The "Gunners" had no room for error and could have taken the sole lead in the league table with a victory.

In the first half, Arsenal, through the efforts of Saka, Trossard, Havertz, and Jesus, came close to opening the scoring. The home team lacked accuracy, while Aston Villa's goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez confidently dealt with their attempts. Towards the end of the first forty-five minutes, Ollie Watkins nearly shocked the Emirates Stadium with a shot that hit the post.

The second half saw much less intensity. The only notable chance came from Youri Tielemans, whose shot was saved by the crossbar. However, five minutes before the final whistle, the visitors opened the scoring thanks to a precise strike from Leon Bailey, and any doubts about the match's outcome were dispelled by Ollie Watkins. Following this round, the "Gunners" will be in second place, with Manchester City leading the pack, ahead of Arteta's team by just one point.
