Arsenal legend Ian Wright falls down stairs just weeks after knee surgery
Arsenal legend Ian Wright faced a scare while attending the Women’s European Championship draw ceremony in Switzerland, reports The Sun. The former footballer slipped and fell down a flight of stairs, just weeks after undergoing knee replacement surgery.
Fortunately, Wright avoided serious injuries, managing with just an ice pack to alleviate the impact. He was still able to conduct the draw without any issues and later returned to England, where he shared updates about his recovery in an Instagram story.

Seven weeks earlier, Wright had undergone surgery to replace his knee joint, which temporarily required him to use a wheelchair. He even appeared on the Stick To Football podcast in a wheelchair during his recovery period.
Ian Wright was an iconic striker for Arsenal, scoring 185 goals for the club—a record that stood until 2005, when Thierry Henry surpassed his tally. Wright remains second on the all-time list of Arsenal’s top scorers.
