Arsenal is set to terminate the contract with the goalkeeper
Arsenal intends to terminate the contract with Icelandic goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson, as reported by insider Fabrizio Romano.
In the current season, the goalkeeper is playing for Cardiff City on loan. The termination of the agreement with Arsenal will signify the end of collaboration with the Welsh club.
It is noted that the 28-year-old goalkeeper intends to join Copenhagen as a free agent.
Arsenal acquired the Icelandic goalkeeper from Dijon in 2020 for two million euros. The goalkeeper has played only six matches for the Gunners' first team in all competitions. The majority of his "London career" was spent on loan.
In the current season, the goalkeeper has played eight matches for Cardiff in all competitions, conceding 14 goals.
Arsenal currently holds the third position in the Premier League standings with 46 points. On February 4th, Mikel Arteta's team will face Liverpool.
