Arsenal's right-back, Ben White, has declined the call-up to the England national team for the friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium. This announcement was made by the team's head coach, Gareth Southgate, during a press conference.

"We had a call from Arsenal last week to say that Ben White didn’t want to be considered for England squads.

Ben White didn’t want to be selected and t’s a great shame, he’s player I really like. I took him to the Euros and World Cup. I spoke to him post Qatar, I was keen to pick him… there was clearly reticence on his side”.

Throughout his career, White has only appeared in four matches for the England national team.

As a reminder, Southgate has included two debutants, Jarrod Branthwaite from Everton and Anthony Gordon from Newcastle, in the England squad for the upcoming matches.

England will face Brazil on March 23rd, followed by a match against Belgium three days later. Both games will be hosted at the legendary Wembley Stadium.
