Arsenal could pay £85m for Aston Villa forward

Gabriel Jesus' unstable form and high injury rate could force Arsenal into a costly transfer.

According to CaughtOffside, the Canaries are considering a move for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins for £85 million. It is added that the London club have already been in contact with the player regarding a potential transfer.

The 28-year-old striker has also been linked with Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United at various times, but now reports are emerging that interest in Watkins is being fuelled by Arsenal.

The 28-year-old Englishman has made 30 goals in 35 games for Aston Villa this season: 18 goals and 12 assists. Transfermarkt estimates the player in 60 million euros, and his contract with the "villians" is valid until the summer of 2028.

Earlier it was reported that Arsenal are interested in Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee.
