Arsenal could bolster their squad with experienced midfielder
The 31-year-old Dane brings a wealth of Premier League experience.
Details: Arsenal wasted no time and have already identified a replacement for Thomas Partey, who has declined to extend his contract with the club.
According to Sky Sports PL, Brentford’s holding midfielder Christian Nørgaard has emerged as a serious option for the Gunners, who have entered the transfer market looking to strengthen their midfield depth amid the possible departure of the Ghanaian.
Reports suggest Arsenal have tabled an €11 million offer for the Bees’ captain, but that figure was deemed insufficient by Brentford’s management. Negotiations between the clubs are ongoing.
Nørgaard himself, sources say, has made it clear to Brentford’s hierarchy that he is keen on a move to the Emirates and ready for a new challenge.
The Danish midfielder has been with the Bees since 2019, racking up 196 appearances across all competitions and earning both the fans’ respect and the captain’s armband from the coaching staff.
According to Transfermarkt, Nørgaard’s market value stands at €11 million. His current contract with Brentford runs until 2027.
Reminder: Arsenal have also identified a replacement for Partey in the Spanish league
