Arsenal close to signing Anthony Gordon, but only on one condition
The English transfer market is heating up with what could become one of the blockbuster deals of the year.
Details: According to indykaila News, Arsenal are edging closer to landing Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon. However, the Magpies aren't ready to let go of their star man without a fight—they've set a counter-condition that could dramatically reshape the Gunners’ attacking line.
Newcastle, for their part, have issued an ultimatum: Anthony Gordon will only head to London if Gabriel Martinelli goes the other way. The Magpies’ management are determined and have already laid the groundwork to bring in the Brazilian, promising to make him the highest-paid player in club history.
As things stand, both clubs are locked in intense negotiations, and Arsenal are reportedly willing to go the extra mile to secure Gordon’s signature.
It’s worth noting that this season, Gordon has made 39 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions, netting 14 goals and providing 5 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €60 million.
Reminder: Arsenal lead the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.
